A Reasonable Use Exception is to be used only when the requirements of
Sammamish Municipal Code 21A.50 would deny all reasonable uses of a
property.
With approval, a reasonable use exception can make allowances for
alterations of critical areas, critical area buffers and setbacks so that
reasonable use can occur.
APPLICATION REVIEW PROCESS
A Reasonable Use Exception is Type 2 decision made by the Director.
FEES
Applicants are responsible for providing an initial deposit (as well as
additional deposits as needed) to cover all application review costs.

Detail how the application meets the criteria listed in SMC 21A.50.070 (2) through the following:
The application of Chapter 21A.50 SMC would deny all reasonable use of the property
There is no other reasonable use with less impact on the critical area
The proposed development does not pose an unreasonable threat to the public health, safety,
or welfare on or off the development proposal site and is consistent with the general purposes
of SMC 21A.50 and the public interest
Any alterations permitted to the critical area shall be the minimum necessary to allow for
reasonable use of the property; and any authorized alteration of a critical area under SMC
21A.50.070 shall be subject to conditions established by the department including, but not
limited to, mitigation under an approved mitigation plan
