Flexible delivery with sometime in training centre and/or sometime in work placement dependent upon individual as provision is needs led.
Dependent upon type of provision attendance can vary from 1-5 days per week spread over a 7 day period with a minimum of 6 hours and a maximum of 30
hours per week. If starting on the minimum number of hours/days per week, this would be expected to be increased as progression on the program.
Duration can vary and can be a mixture of vocational and/or core skills/employability skills. Average length at the start of the program is normally up to 10
weeks, with a maximum of 26 weeks for participants aged 24 or under and a maximum of 16 weeks for participants aged 25 or over, determined by the
needs of the individual. Any work experience element cannot exceed 240 hours in total.
Start dates will be agreed on a roll on roll off basis.
Initial telephone call or e-mail is recommended to discuss and check on availability of provision at the relevant stage, each potential referral will normally be
interviewed by an experienced team member to establish that the suggested referral stage is correct and agree the proposed contents of an Individual
Training Plan discussing and documenting any steps to be taken to support barrier removal and promote progression and achievement. This should be
followed by a fully completed Eligibility Confirmation signed by both parties prior to any start being considered. Applications should be posted or emailed
to the Local Provider contact, Doug Taylor contact details shown above. Individuals should not be referred if they have been accepted for a further

The provision will be provided with an emphasis being placed on a person centered approach that supports personal development, barrier removal and up
skilling. To provide applicants with the personal, life and work skills necessary to prepare them for employment in a sector of their choice, using an agreed
individual training plan driven by their individual needs. For those that require it, additional support can be arranged to assist them to achieve the proposed
outcomes.
The training will be outcome focused with the emphasis being placed on Barrier Removal, Development activities; Personal Development and Up skilling to
ensure Core Skills are at a level commensurate with their vocational skills. Participants will be closely monitored & reviews undertaken 4 weekly or if required
more frequently, this will assist in identifying any barriers to progression and identifying the means by which the they may be overcome. Not all Stage 2
clients will undertake formal certification such as employability awards as it may be more appropriate to deliver more work based skills such as timekeeping/
attendance, health and safety awareness; moving and handling principles; First Aid. One on one support can be given where necessary. Examples of
vocational areas for possible work experience placements (up to 240hrs) are Rural skills, Lands & parks maintenance, Retail, Administration, Social Services &
Healthcare, however, we will consider all requests. Participants will be encouraged and supported to make full use of digital media 'My world of work',
'Universal Job Match' and to search for job vacancies from appropriate recruitment sites, assistance with job applications and CV preparation.
On successful completion of their personal training plan, progression to Stage 3, further education, employment or Modern Apprenticeship using local
