All applications must fulfil the following requirements:
1. Supply a plan detailing the siting of tables and chairs at an occupant density of 1.3
users per m

. Please note that plans must allow for easy movement of through
pedestrian traffic including prams, wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
2. Supply a copy of approval of site layout from NZ Transport Agency for applications on
Main Street.
3. The maximum hours of operation are 9am to 11pm 7 days per week.
4. All furniture is to be removed from footpath at the end of each day’s trading.
5. Tables and chairs shall be located directly outside the business applying for this permit. If it is
proposed to use an area elsewhere (ie. a tiled or paved area within the CBD area), written
approval of the business(s) directly in front of these areas will be required.
6. Permits will be valid for 12 months.
7. Fee for an alfresco dining permit is $75 per year.
