PRRS/PEDv Testing Rebate Application
The Wisconsin Pork Association offers $25 rebates to pork producers to help offset
costs of testing for Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) and
Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDv). Testing is required to comply with
changes to Wisconsin’s Animal Health rule effective March 2018. The rule change
requires farms with pigs to test for PRRS and PEDv when moving from one premise
to another within Wisconsin or for pigs coming into the state. Testing is not required
for pigs moving directly to slaughter. The funding is available on a first-come-first
serve basis. Producers may apply for one grant each quarter of the year.
Details on the rule can be found by going to www.datcp.wi.gov and searching "swine movement" or
directly at https://datcp.wi.gov/Pages/Programs_Services/SwineMovement.aspx
The following requirements and stipulations apply:
Producer must complete and mail reimbursement form by December 1, 2021.
Reimbursement form must include documentation showing proof of test completion
Proof of test can include a dated copy of a veterinary clinic bill that shows a line item for PRRS/
PEDv testing or a copy of a test report including date from a veterinary diagnostic lab (test
results can be blacked out; testing completion is all that is required for reimbursement).
