Section 1 County Government Skills Practice
How Much Do You Know About Your County?
Directions: It is important that you are well acquainted with your own county. Let’s see how well you do in describing
your county in words and graphics.
1. Write a short descriptive paragraph describing your home county. Don’t forget to include the name of your county
and its county seat. Be sure to include the geographic features, demographic aspects, historic sites, parks, and
recreational facilities that other counties may not have. Also mention your climate, your local industries, and
your largest businesses. Finally, tell where your county is located in the state and how to get there if someone
wants to visit.
