Directions: During the Great Depression, many children wrote letters directly to President Franklin Roosevelt and First
Lady Eleanor Roosevelt to appeal for help. Imagine you are a young child living in poverty here in Georgia. What would
you need help with? Are you hungry? Do your parents need a job? Write a letter to President Roosevelt or Mrs. Roosevelt
explaining your situation and asking for the help you think your family needs the most.
