On the Day of the Examination
You should arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled exam appointment. This allows time for
you to sign in and for staff to verify your identification. You must present a valid form of
identification before you can test. The identification must be government issued (e.g., driver’s
license, state-issued identification card, passport, or military identification card), contain both a
current photo and your signature and have a name that exactly matches the name used to register for
the exam (including designations such as “Jr” and “III”). NOTE: If you fail to present a valid
identification, you will not be allowed to test.
The use of nonprogrammable calculators (basic functions only) is permitted for some of the exams –
see calculator info below. Scratch paper will be provided and collected after the exam.
Exam Retake Policy
If you have not achieved a satisfactory score, you may retake the same exam title after the required
wait period has passed (currently set at 30 days from your original test date). If you attempt to take
the same exam title before the required wait period, your exam will be invalid and test fees will be
forfeited.
Calculator Policy
GGU will provide basic, non-programmable, non-graphing calculators for the following exams:
Fundamentals of College Algebra
Principles of Statistics
Principles of Finance
Introduction to Computing
Personal Finance
Canceling Your Attendance
To cancel or reschedule your DSST exam, please contact the GGU Testing Services as soon
as possible.
What to Bring on Exam Day
Please bring a valid photo ID with you, such as a California Driver License, GGU Student ID
card or a passport.
NO ONE WILL BE ADMITTED INTO THE EXAM ROOM WITHOUT A PHOTO ID.
ARRIVAL TIME on the day of t he exam is 10 m inutes before the exam session
begins. If you arrive af ter the ex am session begins that will be cons idered a non -
appearance and your exam fee will not be refunded.
DO NOT BRING: PDAs of any kind, books, papers, notes, beepers, cell phones, alarm
watches or food. U sing any of these items during the exam will lead to dismissal from the
exam. Pocket items – keys, wallets, etc. – must remain in your pocket during testing.
NO BEVERAGES will be allowed into the computer room/area. A calculator can be
provided if your exam requires you to use one and you do not have one. Please be
prepared to leave bulky or non-test personal items in the front of the test room. Only
students who are taking the test are allowed in the testing areas.
