Sensenich has developed a ground-adjustable, composite
blade propeller and spinner specifically for the RV series. It is
a 72” diameter 2-blade unit that uses the Sensenich Pitch Set-
ting Gage System to easily and accurately change the pitch of
both blades. It is designed to fit (I)O-320 & (I)O-360 150-180
HP Lycoming engines. It is not suitable for larger 200HP en-
gines. The propeller has been tested and shown compliance
with ASTM specification F2506.
Propeller blades are black with white tips. The spinner is made
of carbon fiber/fiberglass and is supplied with blade cut-outs
and necessary hardware.
The propeller is supplied with a 2.25” crankshaft spacer. Early
RV cowls intended for fixed-pitch props may require a 4” spac-
er. For these, or for (I)O-320 engines with 3/8” crankshaft lugs,
order the prop without a spacer. Suitable spacers are availa-
ble from Saber Manufacturing (www.sabermfg.com).
NOTE that the standard Van’s 13” spinner will not work with
the Sensenich Composite propeller. Those ordering this prop
should delete the spinner from their Finishing Kit orders. Cur-
rently, there is no available spinner option from either Van’s or
Sensenich for RV-3/4 aircraft using the 12” spinner .
