1. Describe family members’ involvement and/or personal involvement with the
building industry.
2. If you are a Post High School Graduate or have a G.E.D. please provide a letter of
recommendation from a civic leader, volunteer coordinator, or employer indicating
your experiences and accomplishments. If you are a current High School Student, on
school letterhead, have a teacher or administrator of your choice write a brief letter
of reference for you. Please indicate the teacher’s name and the subject that he/she
teaches.
3. Provide a typewritten essay (500 word maximum) on why you want to pursue
the course of study that you have chosen and how it would relate to the building
industry.
4. If you are not a current High School Senior and are attending College for the first
time, please attach a resume.
5. Provide details on any Extra-Curricular Activities (i.e. Athletics, music, drama,
yearbook, student council, etc.), Elected Positions, Honor Societies, Special Awards
and Participation in Community Activities.

ELEGIBILITY CRITERIA __________
An applicant must:
Be a legal resident of Laramie County
Be a current senior student at a Laramie
County High School; or be a graduate of a
High School; or have a G.E.D.
Have a cumulative high school grade point
average (GPA) of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale,
as evidenced by an ofcial transcript from the
applicant’s high school.
Course of study must directly relate to
the Building and Construction Industry
(i.e. Engineering, Architecture, Surveying,
Construction Technology, Business,
Accounting, Finance and Landscaping)
Have signicantly contributed to his or her
school or community by way of involvement
in extra-curricular activities, including, but
not limited to: service clubs or organizations,
honor societies, choir, orchestra, band,
athletics, speech or debate teams, ne or
performing arts, Scouts, FFA, and 4-H.

documentation must be received by the
Scholarship Committee no later than March 1.
INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS
WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
SELECTION:
The recipient will be selected from applications
submitted to SEWBA and will be at the
sole discretion of the SEWBA Scholarship
Committee. Selection will be made in March of
each year, with formal announcement made in
April.
NUMBER AND AMOUNT OF
SCHOLARSHIPS:
The number and amount of scholarships will
be determined yearly based on the amount of
funds available.
Presently, each SEWBA Scholarship will be
$1,000 annually, made in 2 equal installments
during the college academic year.
The SEWBA Scholarship may be renewed for
a total of four years, but must not exceed the
length of Students Course of Study. To renew
your scholarship each year, ofcial transcripts
must be submitted to SEWBA no later than
June 1.
SEWBA will disburse the proceeds of the
scholarship to the student and college at the
beginning of each academic term.
Scholarship recipients must notify SEWBA of
any change of address. Failure to do so will
result in termination of the scholarship.
