VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarship Criteria:
1. OYA Participant
2. JW graduate/participant
3. Complete FAFAS (Free application for Federal Student Aid), available from
high school counselors or LCCC Financial Aid Office
4. Preference will be given to individuals who demonstrate involvement at the
high school or community level in helping others (see instructions below)
5. Two letters of recommendation from OYA Counselor/Mentor and
Community/Family
Application Deadline: April 1
Scholarship Amount:
1. The recipient will receive one year full-tuition to be used at Laramie County
Community College within the calendar year following the award.

Please attach a statement, in 300 words or less, stating why you believe you are a
probable candidate for consideration for the Youth Alternatives Volunteer of the Year
Scholarship at LCCC. It is very important that you explain volunteer experience in
which you were of service to someone or some group. In addition, please describe your
educational and career goals, your financial situation or need and your plans for future
volunteer or community service work.
