IGETC (Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum) Option B
2020-2021
Updated: 5/27/2020
IGETC (Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum) is a series of courses that allows community college transfer students
to fulfill lower-division general education requirements either at the UC or the CSU system. The IGETC pattern is most useful for
students who want to keep their options open before making a final decision about transferring to a particular UC or CSU campus.
Completion of IGETC does not guarantee admission, nor is it generally required for admission. IGETC is not appropriate for some
majors. A Transfer Studies Certificate of Achievement may be achieved upon successful completion of the IGETC Pattern. Please see a
counselor for additional information and guidance.
Note: All courses used for IGETC must be completed with a minimum grade of C and must be IGETC approved at the time the course
is completed.
