Federal Pell Grant Lifetime Eligibility Used (LEU)
There is now a lifetime limit to the amount of Federal Pell Grant a student may receive. A new federal law has set the lifeti me limit of
six years full-time enrollment or its equivalent. The maximum amount of Pell Grant a student may receive each year equals 100% of
lifetime eligibility used (LEU); therefore, each student has a total of 600% Pell Grant eligibility or LEU available.
Students have the right to decline or return Pell Grant funds during the academic year to preserve eligibility for future enrollment
periods. Undisbursed Pell Grant funds may be declined within the academic year only.
