Early Deadline Form
The state of Texas requires students to be enrolled the semester in which they graduate. However, if a student
misses the deadline to apply for graduation or does not complete and submit to the Graduate School all
degree requirements by the graduation submission deadline, that student may apply for Early Deadline to
graduate the following/upcoming semester. Provided the student meets all of the requirements for Early
Deadline, they will not have to enroll and pay tuition the following/upcoming semester and the student will
graduate (& the degree will be officially conferred) at the end of the following/upcoming semester.
The Early Deadline date is the Friday before the start of the following/upcoming semester.
To be eligible for Early Deadline the student must:
• Apply for graduation for the following/upcoming semester unless the student has submitted a Rollover Form
by the roll-over deadline.
• Have completed and submitted all degree requirements, including thesis or dissertation signed by the
committee.
• Submit the Early Deadline Form to the Graduate School*
• Submit all materials including thesis or dissertation, if applicable, signed by the committee.
• Pay all required fees.
