SOLID FUEL BURNING APPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS
1. Unit shall be installed to manufacturer’s installation guide requirements.
2. Manufacturer’s installation guide must be available during inspection.
3. If for any reason the guide is not available, the following NFPA-211 requirements
shall apply:
a. 36 inches from combustibles
b. 18 inch floor protection in front of and to the sides
c. 18 inches from flu pipe to combustibles
4. Clearance reductions shall comply with Table 12.6.2.1 of the current edition of
NFPA 211.
5. Appliances shall not be installed in any location where gasoline or any other
flammable vapors or gases are present.
6. Appliances shall not be installed in any garage.
