Rev. 7.10.13
COMPLIANCE WITH COPYRIGHT GUIDELINES FOR PHOTOCOPIED MATERIALS
It is the responsibility of faculty members to conform to the copyright law. It is recommended that you obtain permission
from the copyright holder before making copies to be placed on reserve. For further information related to copyright, refer
to the U.S. Copyright Office Circular 21, “Reproduction of Copyrighted Works by Educators and Librarians,” available at
http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ21.pdf
or contact a Copyright Office Information Specialist at (202) 707-3000.
Each copy must bear notice of copyright (“c” or “copyright” plus the date and name of copyright owner.)
Personal copies and folders for each article, etc. should indicate course prefix and number, instructor’s name, and
contents. Pages should be in order and stapled appropriately to reduce loss.
These procedures are also to be followed when adding materials to existing folders during the semester.
REMOVAL OF MATERIALS FROM RESERVE
All materials will be removed from the Reserve Room at the end of the semester. Personal copies, including all file
folders, will be returned to the faculty member at the end of the semester (Fall, Spring, and Summer) unless
otherwise requested.
An extension form is mailed out to each professor to be filled out and returned as soon as possible.
For further information or assistance, contact the Circulation Department at your campus. (Cocoa 433-7250,
