TAKING CLASSES WHILE
STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL
CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT
Las Positas College provides the opportunity for high school students in 10th, 11th, and 12th
grades to enroll in college-level courses. Concurrent Enrollment allows eligible students to
enroll in college courses while attending high school and simultaneously earn college credit
and get a head start on their college career. Students complete assignments and are given a
final grade that is posted on a Las Positas College official transcript. Students who desire to
participate in Concurrent Enrollment must be recommended by their high school principal
and have written parental permission. Further information on Concurrent Enrollment is
available at the student's high school and the Admissions & Records Office at Las Positas
College.
COURSE RESTRICTIONS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
•
Concurrent Enrollment is limited to a maximum of 11 units per semester (Fall and
Spring) and 6 units (Summer).
•
Enrollment in Kinesiology (Physical Education) and basic skills courses (English 104
level, all English as a
Second Language (ESL) courses, Math 107 level) are not allowed.
•
Students who complete paperwork for Concurrent Enrollment may only register for Las
Positas College classes. Those who wish to register for classes at Chabot College must
complete paperwork for Concurrent Enrollment at Chabot College.
CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT ADMISSION CHECKLIST

Attach a current high school transcript (if applicable include official Advanced
Placement (AP) scores, R4 affadvit for home school)
Fill out the Concurrent Enrollment Recommendation Form.
Fill out the Parent/Guardian Authorization Form for Minors.
Bring the completed packet to the Admissions & Records Office by the established
deadline.

Documentation received after the established deadline are not guaranteed to be
accepted for enrollment. Once your packet is processed, an email will be sent with
registration information. All students are strongly advised to take the English and
Math assessment tests.
