I reported on the FAFSA that I was not planning to file a 2018 federal tax return with the IRS, but I filed.
As a tax filer, you must submit a signed copy of your tax return before we can complete this process and send you a financial aid offer. You can submit a copy of
your actual 2018 federal tax return (1040 + Schedule 1/2/3 if applicable). If you don't have your tax return, you can order a copy of your tax return transcript from
the IRS for free (start at www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript and choose “Get transcript by mail”) or use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT). Instructions to use
the IRS DRT can be found on our website: https://www.lorainccc.edu/paying-for-college/apply-for-financial-aid/
Section 3. Additional Requirements
Do not submit this form until you have gathered all other required documents/forms to avoid processing delays.
**Independent students: you are required to submit a copy of your “verification of non-filing letter” from the IRS. Start at
www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript and choose “Get transcript by mail.” Be sure to select “verification of non-filing letter.”
All other required documents/forms are listed on your To Do list in MyCampus. To view your To Do list, log in to MyCampus and click on "Student Center." LCCC
form(s) listed can be found on our website, www.lorainccc.edu/finaidforms.
Section 4. Certification.
My signature below certifies that the information I provided on this form is true. I understand that I must include the Verification of Non-Filing Letter from the IRS (if I
am an independent student) and all copies of my 2018 W-2 forms for any income earned from work in 2018 (or my tax return transcript/use of the IRS Data Retrieval
Tool if I filed).
