HOUSING APPLICATION
Snead State Community College has a residence hall on the campus. An applicant may reserve either a
private room or a semi-private room; however, a request for a private room is granted on a space available
basis. If a private room is not available, an applicant will be assigned a semi-private room.
Each room in the residence hall is furnished with two beds, twin extra long mattresses, individual closets, and
individual chest-of-drawers. The residence hall has two laundry rooms and a lounge area.
Students must furnish pillows, blankets, sheets, pillowcases, bedspreads, mattress pads, towels, toiletry
articles, shower curtain, lamps, and light bulbs. Internet access and cable is provided in all dorm rooms.
The following items ARE permitted in rooms: alarm clock, cleaning supplies, clothing, crock pot, fan, hairdryer,
humidifier (UL approved), iron, microwave, personal computers, radio, refrigerator (not over 5 cubic ft.), small
throw rugs (fire-retardant), telephone, television, and wastebasket (non-flammable).
The following items ARE NOT permitted in rooms: air or water filled furniture, burners, candles or anything
with an open flame, coffee pots, combustible fluids or hazardous chemicals, contact paper, electric fry pans,
fireworks/explosives, electric blankets, grilling machines, hot plates, pets, portable heaters, toasters or toaster
ovens, ungrounded extension cords, and waffle makers.
Students who reside in the residence hall must purchase a meal ticket each semester (excluding summer).
Meals are served ten times a week, Monday-Thursday, lunch and dinner, Friday lunch, and Sunday lunch.
Housing fees are due and payable at the beginning of each semester. Room assignments will not be
made until all fees have been paid.

All semi-private rooms have a max capacity of two students. Two rooms share one bathroom.
SSCC scholarships do not cover housing fees.
*Housing fees are subject to change without notice. The security deposit fee or a portion of it will be refunded provided the student
makes a request within 30 days after leaving the dormitory. The security deposit will be refunded if we cannot provide accommodations
to the applicant. The security deposit will NOT be refunded to an applicant who decides not to stay on campus.
