Instructions for “Education Plan Until Degree Is Earned”
You will use DegreeWorks or your individual STARS Guide to view what courses are needed to complete your
degree plan. It is recommended that you primarily use DegreeWorks and check your class selection with your
STARS guide. (There is no STARS guide for General Education or Associate in Applied Science majors.)
You can access DegreeWorks through your OneACCS account (OneACCS Student DegreeWorks)
In Degree Works, classes listed in red are “Still Needed.” All of these classes should be included on your
Education Plan.
Term: Semester you plan to take these classes (ex: Fall 2021, Spring 2022)
Course Prefix Course Number Course Title Credit Hours
What is this?
3 letter code that
indicates the department
for each course
3 digit
number
assigned to each
course
The name of the course
The number of
credit hours for
the course
What should it
look like?
ex: ENG ex: 102 ex: English Composition II
ex: 3 credit hours
Where can I
find this in
Degree Works?
Within any area where you are missing credits
there is a list of classes that could be taken to
earn those hours in DegreeWorks. This list
follows the red “Still Needed” indicator. The
classes are listed by the course prefix and number.
Hover over any course prefix and number to
see the course title and credit hours. (Also,
you can click on any course prefix and
number to see the catalog description of the
class and any prerequisites.)
You will need to check for prerequisite classes. You can see any prerequisites for a class by clicking on the
course prefix and number in DegreeWorks. (Some Science classes have a Math prerequisite. As a general rule,
you cannot take the Class 2 before you take Class 1. For example, ENG101 must be taken before ENG102.)
You are not choosing specific class sections on this plan. This is a guide to help you see which courses you need
to complete your degree in a timely manner.
It is recommended that you keep a copy of this plan so that you have a record of which classes you need to take
each semester until you complete your degree. Also, be sure to review your DegreeWorks each semester.
