• Prepares and submits appropriate materials to the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT)
for reimbursement and preparing local match invoices
• Develops and maintains the Public Participation Plan (PPP)
• Maintains Title VI, LEP, and other required civil rights documents
• Develops and submits annual reporting documents to KDOT
• Oversees the administrative and personnel processes and operations, including health insurance,
general liability insurance, worker's comp, retirement offerings, tax-related information, and similar
processes
• Prepare Annual Listing of Obligated Projects
• Maintain and update the Flint Hills Regional Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Architecture
documents and website
• Develops, updates, and maintains other federally required transportation planning documents
•Utilizes modeling tools and quantitative analysis methods and procedures in transportation
planning for corridor studies, travel demand modeling, preparing of studies, public involvement
activities, and other related activities
• Responds to inquiries from citizens, regional public agencies, area transportation providers, and
other interested parties and the public concerning transportation planning guidelines, procedures,
and time frames
• Responsible for attending, serving as a member of, and presenting to various local and regional
groups and organizations
• Assists with regional transportation planning efforts and provides support to the MPO planning
partners
• Provides staff support to the Policy Board, Technical Advisory Committee, and any other
committees that may be created by the MPO
• Assists with the development of specific transportation plans or corridor plans
• Assists in the circulation of information on transportation policies and projects to other public
agencies and jurisdictions
• Assist in coordinating the solicitation, selection, and management of consultants hired by the MPO
• Oversee the work of interns employed by the MPO
• Performs other duties or responsibilities to support the MPO
• Principles and objectives of transportation, community, and regional planning
• Multi-modal transportation planning
• State and Federal regulations pertaining to metropolitan planning organizations
• Principles and concepts pertaining to transportation planning
• Techniques of collecting and organizing physical, social, economic, legal, and other data
used in transportation, community and regional planning
• Knowledge of effective public outreach techniques
• Experience in grant writing and grant management
• Techniques necessary to provide effective customer service
• Modern office methods, practices, and computer equipment (Office Suite knowledge is
required, Adobe Creative Suite preferred)
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license
