Guidance Counselor,
Please let me take this opportunity to introduce you to our
organization, NAWIC (National Association of Women in
Construction). The Space Coast Florida Chapter was chartered
in October 1996 and encompasses all of Brevard County. Our
core purpose is “to enhance the success of women in the
construction industry”. NAWIC members are all volunteers who
give of their time and energies to promote educational programs
and community projects in our local area.
We will be awarding a $1,000 scholarship to a female student
who will be pursuing a career in a construction related field. This
scholarship will be required to be used at a college, university, or
trade school within the state of Florida. The check will be
payable to the school of her choice and earmarked in that
student’s name and whether it is for tuition or books. Our
selection committee will be considering the student’s essay at
the time of their selection. We hope that you will have a student
interested in our industry and that she will apply as soon as
possible.
Our scholarship application is enclosed. The application
deadline is April 15th and this award will be made by April
25th. The completed application should be submitted by
