Junior Leadership Johnston County
Junior Leadership Johnston is a program to assist emerging youth in their efforts to
prepare for leadership positions in business, community, education and government affairs
in their future endeavors.
Complete the application in its entirety.
Use correct grammar and punctuation.
Have someone proofread the application for completion and errors, before submitting
to the Advisory Board.
Complete the application electronically or use an ink pen and print legibly.
At least one student will be selected from each high school
The summer program will be held June 15-19, 2020
A mandatory orientation will be held prior to the program week to familiarize
parents and/or guardians and participants with the specifics of the program
Participants will be involved in activities each day including, but not limited to: self-
assessments, teambuilding, communication, presentation skills, etc. as well as tours
of local businesses, industries and agencies
Participants will work in teams to produce a presentation related to the week of
activities, to be presented during the banquet on June 19, 2020
Must be a current sophomore (rising junior for 2020-2021 school year)
Must be in good academic standing with their respective high school
Must attend public high school, charter school, private school or be home schooled in
Johnston County
Must participate in all sessions if selected

Lunch and snacks will be provided daily. Participants will receive a t-shirt, as well as a
certificate of completion at the end of the week-long program.
Participants MUST agree to attend ALL 5 days of the summer program and the
banquet to graduate with a certificate from the program.
