The Rockford Fire Department responded to reports of a residential structure fire at 11th Street and 8th
Avenue. Dispatch advised they had received multiple calls and that callers could hear a dog barking
inside. The first units arrived in four minutes to find fire from the first floor of the two story single
family residence. Neighbors advised that they believed that no one was home. The fire was under
control six minutes from arrival. There were no civilian or fire department injuries. The residence was
not livable. Red Cross was called to assist the family, one adult and three children. The family did loose
a dog and a cat in the fire.
