The Honors College provides opportunities for students to pursue an honors degree while studying and exchanging
ideas in a challenging and supportive academic environment. Students are invited to take unique interdisciplinary
seminars designed and taught by the Montana State University's most distinguished faculty members. Seminars are
restricted to fifteen students, thus permitting close interaction with faculty and peers. There are also special restricted
entry sections of departmental offerings such as chemistry, economics, English, mathematics, music, physics,
statistics, psychology, and sociology. Such sections are considerably smaller than regular departmental classes, and
like most honors offerings satisfy university core requirements. Additionally, honors students are routinely invited to
embrace research opportunities with outstanding scientists or engage in independent study with acclaimed scholars and
artists in a variety of fields. Individualized advising is also provided for the honors curriculum. Honors graduates have
an outstanding record of admission to the nation's finest graduate and professional schools.
