This is an estimate provided for average costs of studying and living (9 months) at The
University of Southern Mississippi. Actual amounts could differ based upon choices made
about living accommodations and spending habits. This estimate does NOT include costs for
living or studying in Hattiesburg during the summer semester.
Each student should arrive on campus with at least $1,200.00 in cash, or a check/bank draft
made out to the student, to cover initial personal expenses ( clinic charges, food, housing,
toiletries, etc). In addition, 50% of tuition and fees are due in U.S. currency at the start of
each semester and should be brought as a bank draft made out to The University of
Southern Mississippi.
Those students who will bring dependents (spouse and/or child) must show proof of an
additional $2,500.00 per year for the first dependent and $1,000.00 per year for each
additional dependent. Please contact the ISSS Office for more information regarding this
matter.
