STUDENT SENATE APPLICATION
INSTRUCTIONS
Please TYPE in your answers using Adobe Reader or a similar program. We cannot accept handwritten
applications. Print this application and bring it to the Office of Student Life & Diversity (Room 1265) no later
than Wednesday, February 6, at 5:00pm.
Once you have submitted your application it will be reviewed and you will be contacted by the Office of
Student Life & Diversity to schedule a screening interview. The screening interview will take place from
Wednesday, January 23 Monday, February 11. A mandatory orientation for candidates will be held on
Tuesday, February 12
th
. Candidates will learn about the campaigning process during orientation. Candidates
can campaign from Tuesday, February 12 Monday, March 4. Voting will take place between Monday,
March 4 Monday, March 11. Elections results will be shared on Tuesday, March 12.

I understand I must enroll in 6 credits for the Fall and Spring semester.
I understand that if running for President or Vice President I must maintain a minimum
cumulative & semester GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
I understand that if running for Treasurer, Secretary, Marketing & Events Coordinator, or
Diversity Officer, I must maintain a minimum cumulative & semester GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0
scale.

I understand that I must attend all General Assemblies (12pm-1pm), which meet on
alternating Wednesdays, and not schedule courses that would conflict with these
meetings.
I understand that I must attend weekly Executive Board meetings on Fridays from 10:00am
to 11:30am.
I understand that if elected it may be necessary for me to participate in certain Student
Senate activities during the spring semester prior to the start of my contract.
I understand that if elected I cannot serve as an officer on any other Student Organization
or Interest Group due to conflict of interest.
I understand that if elected my contract will begin on August 1, 2019 and conclude on May
31, 2020.
