Stall reservations and entries will be taken on a first come first serve basis.
Entries and stall reservations will be accepted by email, fax or
online. Management is not responsible for entry errors due to incomplete or
illegible entry forms. Entries received after close will be charged a late fee.
Entry forms must be complete and signed.
Numbers Issued only with a signed open check deposited with the horse show secretary. Classes
offered will be conducted and judged according to the appropriate sanctioning organizations rules.
Social Security Numbers | Federal ID Numbers Owner's Social Security number or Federal ID number
MUST be on the entry form of any horse and/or pony exhibited in classes where prize money is awarded.
Competition Office Hours Competition Days one hour before start of first class 30 min. following
completion of last class.
Membership Numbers A signed entry blank with association membership numbers for each horse,
owner, and rider must be submitted to the show office prior to end of show for points to count.
Service Fees All horses, (horse | rider entry) will be charged an office fee and schooling fee. All
stabled horses will be charged a Night watch fee.
Fee Splits The show office will split tack stalls and shavings counts per Trainer instructions up to close of
office on Friday. At that time office will evenly assign fee splits.
Stabling Bedding A minimum of two bags shavings per stall is mandatory. Bedding orders are to
be made through the office. No outside deliveries.
Damage All owners and exhibitors shall be held responsible for any damage incurred by them, their
agents, or employees to stalls, buildings, and other properties on the show grounds and be billed
accordingly.
Refunds will not be made after the show begins except for lameness of horse or illness of rider.Refunds
due to billing errors will be made only within 24 hours after close of show. Please check your bills
carefully.
Lunging No lunging permitted in the show rings or schooling areas at any time. Lunging only in
designated areas.
Poling & Offsets Manual poling and the use of bamboo offsets are prohibited for all horses competing.
Anyone involved in poling will be subject to a fine of $500.
Schooling in the show rings without permission is prohibited at all times. Warm up will be available on
Friday as designated and before the show each day. Closing times will be announced each day and
schooling will be restricted as conditions warrant.
Non Stabling Horses Horses entered but not stabled must use the designated areas for day exhibitors.
Grounds fees and other administrative fees apply.
Non Showing Horse All non-showing horses must have a signed entry blank in the show office and pay
non-showing and applicable administrative fees.
Non Negotiable Payments Returned checks will be charged a Non-Sufficient Funds fee of $35; Credit
Cards that are rejected will be charged a NPF of $35. Accounts will have three days to make full payment
with penalties by cashiers check. Overnight mail is advised to avoid notification of sanctioning
organizations of failure to make payment.
Concessions will be available show days.
Parking Fire regulations prohibit all vehicles, including trailers, vans, and campers from being parked in
the stabling areas. Vehicles will be allowed in stable areas for loading purposes only. Parking areas
are designated and violators will be towed or ticketed at owner's expense.
Protective Headgear All exhibitors are required to wear properly fitting ASTM protective headgear on
the show grounds when mounted with harness secured snugly and properly fitted while riding in
designated schooling and exercise areas, the show ring, and while jumping anywhere on the grounds. It
is the responsibility of the rider, parents, guardian, or trainer of the junior exhibitor to see that the
headgear worn complies with appropriate safety standards and is properly fitted and in good condition.
Minor Riders Parent(s) or guardian(s) of a minor child shall hold the horse show management and
the facility harmless for any injury to such minor. No minor child's entry will be accepted or number
issued unless a parent or LEGAL guardian signs entry.
Dogs All dogs must be on a leash or otherwise securely contained at all times while on the show
grounds. Said leash must be no more than 6 feet in length and must be held in hand or secured to an
immobile fixture. Retractable leashes must be locked at a length of 6 feet or less. Dog owners are
solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses, or actions resulting from their dog's behaviors. Loose
and/or disruptive dogs may be subject to impoundment by the horse show or by local authorities. Owners
of loose and/or disruptive dogs may be subject to penalties and/or fines. Warning cards may be issued
to dog owners, an accumulation of which shall result in further penalties. Conduct Any act of
Discourtesy to a Judge or Show Official or Staff Member on the part of
trainer, owner, rider, or groom or parent or guardian will immediately disqualify any horse with which they
are associated and all entry fees will be forfeited.
Schooling Fee Schooling fee is applied to each entry. Schooling is available Fridays
approximately 1:30- 6:30pm and show mornings in the hunter rings prior to show start, as conditions and
time permit, as determined by management.. Check with office for schedule adjustments and exact
schooling times. Special and feature classes or events on Fridays and Saturdays may alter schooling
hours and availability.
Motorized Vehicles Unlicensed drivers are not permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind,
including but not limited to golf carts, scooters, and mopeds.
Membership No points will be counted toward PHJA annual awards before membership dues have
been paid and the horse or pony is registered with PHJA
Measurement Ponies must present proof of measurement card, if eligibility is questioned.
Course Strides Courses are set on a 12' stride for horses and ponies.
Over Fences Limit Ponies/Horses may not enter more than seven over fences classes in any one
show day, including equitation medals, Hunter Classics and warm up classes.
Show Ring Conflicts Three Minute Rule will be in effect at management's discretion. Upon
notification to exhibitors the classes can be canceled, if there is not a horse in the ring within three
minutes of the start of the time clock. No refunds will be issued. Please be considerate to your fellow
exhibitors. Flat classes will not be held for trainer conflicts.
Judging All classes will be judged on performance and soundness unless otherwise
noted. Management may restrict the courtesy circle by mandatory dotted line which shall be
indicated on the course diagram. If order of go is established, the one minute rule will be in
effect.Otherwise the three minute rule will be in effect.
Attire Proper attire is required in all classes except warm up classes, when chaps or other non-
standard attire may be worn. Management or judge may eliminate an exhibitor who is inappropriately
attired. This rule does not supersede rules that prescribe attire for beginner riders or variations in
outerwear prescribed by show managers/judges during extremely hot, cold or inclement weather.
Jumper Classes To be eligible for prize money awards you must enter respective division during
the show day.
Holding Classes Under no circumstances will a flat class or under saddle be held for a
trainer conflict, unless the conflict concerns the horse being in another ring. Equitation classes
and jumper classes, may at management's discretion, follow a posted order of go. Management may
designate priority rings.
Electrical / Fire Regulations All electrical installation and connections must meet all state and
county codes. Aisle shall be maintained clear for a minimum of six feet wide by eight feet high. No
obstructions or projections shall be allowed in the aisles. No Class I Flammable liquids such as
gasoline are allowed inside the buildings. Cooking is not permitted within any stabling area. Anyone
found in violation shall be subject to dismissal from further participation in the horse show without
recourse.
Liability PHJA / Horse Show Ventures, the facility operators, their officials and employees will not
be responsible for any accident or loss which may occur to any exhibitors, spectators, guest, groom,
attendant, other employees, animals, or equipment at any of the competitions. All owners and
competitors are personally responsible for damages to third persons caused by themselves, their
employees, agents, horses or dogs. They are strongly advised to take out third party insurance
providing full coverage for participation in equestrian events, and to keep that policy up to date. The
Horse Show Management reserves the right to itself to interpret all questions and conditions in
regard to or arising out of, or incident to the show without claims for damages or recourse of any
kind. All questions not covered in these Rules and Regulations shall be decided by the Horse Show
management. Its decision shall be final. Every horse entered herein for competition will be under the
control of the Horse Show Management, but show management will in no case be responsible for
any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold
the horse show and the officials, employees, directors, officers, sponsoring entities of the horse
show and the facilities at which the horse show is held blameless for any loss or accident to
his/her horse(s), employees(s), or equipment which may occur from sickness, fire, or other
cause. Show Management reserves the right to limit entries in any class, section, or division,
to refuse, accept conditionally, or to cancel any entries, disqualify any riders or exhibitors, prohibit
exhibition of entries, and cancel award prizes without any claim for damages; to
change any course, to add a dotted line, to cancel or combine any unfilled classes, or
to reschedule classes, after due notice to exhibitors, to change rings or rotate judges, to change
specifications in jumper classes as competition warrants.
Entries All Entry Forms must be signed by an adult: competitor, parent, and/or Trainer
as designated. Email, address, and contact cell phone number must be included.
Prizes & Awards Ribbons will be awarded first through sixth place. Championship and Reserve
Champion ribbons and awards (as applicable) will be awarded for hunter divisions with at least two
over fences and an under saddle class with three competitors completing classes. Prize Monies will
be deducted from show bills with check for any balance issued no later than 30 days from show
date. Federal ID number must be provided for receipt of prize money. Classes offering prize
money must have designated number of entries to award full cash amount. If less than the minimum
the entry, fee will be reduced and the class will become an addback. The added money will be
distributed among top placings (30%, 25%, 20%, 10%, 10%, 5%). If class has a minimum of 3 but
less than five the entry fee will be reduced and no cash will be awarded. Normal ribbons and prizes
will then apply.
Champion & Reserve for 25+ divisions each show day. 10 points first place, 6 points second place,
4 points third place, 2 points fourth place, 1 point fifth place, .5 point for sixth place. Champion 20
points, Reserve Champion 12 points.
In case of a tie for Champion or Reserve, award goes to rider with most points over fences.
Champion and Reserve receive special ribbons and awards.
Points & Year End Awards To be eligible for PHJA year end awards, the rider, owner,
and horse/pony must be a member of PHJA. Point accumulation begins on the date that completed
registration and payment is received.
