Community Service Award
The Groton Utilities Community Service Award has been created to honor a member of our
community who has contributed his or her time, energy, and resources to make the community a better
place in which to live and work. The following criteria have been established for this award, which will be
presented at City of Groton Day 2019 on August 2nd at Washington Park:
• The candidate should reside in Greater Groton, including the City, the Town, and any
of the subdivisions or fire districts.
• The candidate should exemplify all the qualities suggested by Groton Utilities’ slogan,
“Giving Back to the Community”.
• The candidate should have demonstrated service-like qualities such as generosity,
commitment, dedication, and unselfishness.
• The candidate should have demonstrated dramatically that he or she has contributed
freely his or her time, energy, and resources to make the community a better place in
which to live and work.
