Statement of Understanding
The Alaska Native Executive Leadership Program is designed to provide students with in-depth
knowledge in key functional business areas through completion of nine modules. Each module is one
month in length and consists of a mandatory weekend intensive on the Alaska Pacic University campus
and pre- and post-assignments that can be completed from anywhere in the world.
Please initial the following statements to agree with the following terms:
ANELP participants must identify a Mentor within their Organization. This relationship is critical not
only to ANELP participants academically, but also professionally, regarding long-term career growth.
In collaboration with their Mentor, ANELP participants must complete an Individual Development
Plan (IDP). The IDP provides a formal mechanism to identify long-term career goals, action steps, and a
timeline to accomplish each goal and the expected results. The IDP is distributed by APU’s Director of
Corporate Programs in the Tools For Success session.
ANELP participants may incur travel costs to participate in two days of on-campus instruction
each month, for nine months (applicable only to those outside of Anchorage). APU is not responsible for
travel arrangements and/or costs incurred for travel.
Participation in ANELP may require time o work to attend mandatory classroom instruction once
a month for nine months. Classes will occur one Friday and one Saturday each month during the
program.
