Auto Technician Scholarship Application
2009-2010 Academic Year
The California New Car Dealers Association Scholarship Foundation (the “Foundation”) provides
scholarship to worthy students who pursue studies related to the sale and service of new motor vehicles.
The Foundation’s Auto Technician Scholarship Program awards scholarships to eligible applicants for use
at post secondary educational institutions that offer auto technician training programs.
Scholarship funds are available for tuition, fees, books, tools and other eligible
educational expenses. The Foundation does NOT
pay scholarships to individuals, but instead
authorizes the grant to be paid directly to the institution, to be credited to the individual student’s account.
The Foundation awards scholarships based on the following criteria:
• Recipient must be a legal resident of the United States and reside in California.
• Recipient must be a high school graduate or the holder of a high school general equivalency
diploma.
• Recipient must be enrolled in or accepted for enrollment in a post secondary mechanical
automotive technician training program (auto body repair programs are excluded).
• Recipient must maintain at minimum part-time status (6 units) each term.
• Recipient must intend to pursue a career as an auto technician at a California franchised new car
dealership.
• Preference will be given to Automotive Youth Education Systems (AYES) graduates and
applicants employed by members of the California New Car Dealers Association.
• Recipient’s academic awards, recognitions and honors will be considered.
• Financial need and diversity may be considerations.
• Scholarships recipients must maintain a grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) of 2.5 for continued
eligibility.
