What is it?
In 2019, M&T Bank created a pop-up shop on Baltimore’s waterfront – called the Spotlight Shop – where
local small businesses could sell their goods and gain exposure for their brands. Then in 2020, when
the world changed, so did our Spotlight Shop. Last year, we took this idea online by creating the Virtual
Spotlight Shop in Baltimore, featuring a dedicated website to shop a variety of small businesses all in one
place. This year, as we believe in local businesses more than ever, we’re rolling out the Virtual Spotlight
Shop across all our communities – and we want you to join!
How does it work?
All summer long, we’ll be highlighting different M&T Business Banking customers on our Virtual Spotlight
Shop website. As a partnering business, we’ll be inviting the public to shop local with your business
through the online portal. We’ll also be promoting the shop heavily on our own social media channels,
as well as through paid media, press coverage and community events. And we encourage you to spread
the word too. After all, the more exposure for your business, the better.
Why is M&T doing this?
We believe local businesses are the lifeblood of our communities, and we’re always looking for new
and exciting ways to help support our customers. And what’s more fun than shopping?
How do I sign up?
If you’re a current M&T Business Banking retail or restaurant customer with an established eCommerce
presence, then you’re invited to apply for the Virtual Spotlight Shop. Just fill out the Virtual Spotlight
Shop partner application and email your completed form to spotlightshop21@gmail.com.
