Terms and Conditions of Street Opening Permit:
• Street cannot be Closed before 9:30am and Must be Opened by 3:30pm
• An application for a road opening permit should allow ten (10) business days for review (with exception
to emergencies) by the Borough of Lindenwold.
• A Permit application shall be accompanied by four (4) copies of a reasonably accurate sketch or plans
showing location and dimensions of proposed work, as well as a traffic control plan, certificate of
liability insurance, Joint Land Use Board approval, and / or county or state approval as applicable.
• You must understand your responsibilities as a Licensed Contractor as described in Chapter 296 of the
Borough Code and be familiar with all O.S.H.A and D.O.T. Regulations pertaining to this work.
• Backfill to all speciation listed in Chapter 296-18 of the Borough Code.
• All opening inspections must follow Chapter 296-26 of the Borough Code.
• Work must begin within 24 hours of anticipated date of opening. Permit is only for dates indicated.
• If work does not begin within 30 days of starting date, or if work exceeds completion date indicated, a
new permit must be issued and a new fee submitted.
• The Borough of Lindenwold reserves the right to revoke this permit within a one (1) hour notice. Permit
must list all contractors and sub-contractors who will be working at the location.
• The Borough of Lindenwold reserves the right to reject requested dates and suggest alternate dates.
• All street restoration should be completed within 48 hours of date work begins.
• Should Police be required, those arrangements are the responsibility of the Applicant.
• A 48-hour notice to the Public Works Department is required before excavation can begin. Failure
to make notifications may impact approvals and deposits.

If the opening is on a County Road you must apply for a Road Opening permit from the Office of Permits,
located at the Camden County Department of Public Works Complex, 2311 Egg Harbor Road, Lindenwold, NJ,
08021. Additional information (including documentation requirements and fee schedules) may be obtained by
calling (856) 566-2980.
