Your appeal may not be reviewed if you do not attach documentation. If you do not or cannot provide
documentation, please clarify in your detailed explanation.
1) ATTACH a detailed explanation of the circumstances you summarized above and what has changed
that will allow you to meet our SAP standards.
2) ATTACH all relevant documentation of the circumstance that prevented you from meeting SAP (e.g.
medical records).
3) Explain how your circumstances met the following criteria in your detailed explanation
• Extraordinary
• Beyond your control
• Interfered with your ability to perform academically
• Documented
• Remedied
Quantitative: pace of course completion below 66.67%

Maximum Timeframe: attempted 225 undergraduate credits
Before your appeal can be reviewed your Course Plan must match your Degree Tracks. All amendments to
Degree Tracks must be made prior to submitting your appeal.
1) ATTACH a signed statement which explains why you have accumulated so many attempted credits
without earning your degree (i.e., change of major, military credits, etc.)
2) ATTACH a Financial Aid Maximum Timeframe Course Plan showing the remaining credits you must
complete to earn your degree. This Course Plan must be signed by your current officially assigned
academic advisor.
• Course Plan – go to the Portal, scroll down to Financial Aid Forms then click on the
“MaxTimeframe Course Plan” for the appropriate year.
The outcome of your Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal will be communicated to you via your WOU e-mail address.
Please see our Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy document for possible outcomes. Second SAP appeals that cite the same
reasons as your first appeal will not be approved. We encourage you to edit your written statements for clarity and mechanics.
