Upgraded Performance Warranty
From 1st January 2021, The Gemini Series includes an upgraded
Performance Warranty agreement. The new warranty restricts power loss
to 2% within the first year and annual degradation of 0.53% for the next
24 years. The upgrade increases the final output to an additional 5% after
25 years of service.

LeTID Resistance
Salt Mist and Ammonia
Light and Elevated Temperature Induce Degradation or LeTID is
a modern concern for most module manufacturers and
installers. The effect radially impacts solar performance within
the first few weeks after installation at greater effect than
Potentially Induced Degradation (PID).
WINAICO was confident that our technology and
manufacturing decisions limited the potential effects of LeTID.
Using TUV Sud as our compliance body all our modules pastUs
present, and future are certified as non-sensitive to the impact
of LeTID .
Considering that almost all Australians live within driving
distance of the coast, WINAICO designing modules specificallydi
to resist the impacts of salt spray.
Our modules passed the IEC 61701 as part of our Voluntary
Panel Certification. The simulation put the modules in a high
saline environment at 35 degrees humidity for 56 days.
Assurance against salt water spray is a critical element for
most coastal installations.
Ammonia is another environmental element that can be cause
degradation especially near agriculture and livestock farming.
Rain naturally collects nearby ammonia and can deposit
higher quantities on roof or ground mounted systems. Our
completion of the IEC 62716 Standard means your WINAICO
modules are better protected no matter where they are in
Australia.

Potentially Induced Degradation (PID)
Solar modules will be exposed to incredible pressure over their
lifetime. Snow loads and high winds will strain the integrity of
solar modules and ensuring that our modules are prepared for
that level of punishment is a critical design factor.
WINAICO has completed additional dynamic load testing to
simulate a typhoon level event with winds up to 202km/hr. The
modules were push and pulled at 200 cycles and over 5000
Pascals of pressure. We were thrilled to see that total change
of power was measured at less than 0.3% before and after the
extreme wind simulation. Click below to see the report from

Potentially Induced Degradation or more commonly known as
PID has been a significant performance issue that rapidly
develops within the first few years amongst certain solar
modules. The issue is caused by a breakdown within the
silicon that is induced by exposure to light, temperature,
humidity and voltage. Considering this is the natural
environment of solar modules, avoiding the impact of PID is
an integral step in the manufacturing process.
WINAICO has chosen components that are non-sensitive to
the impacts of Potentially Induced Degradation. The TUV Sud
Compliance test demonstrates all our modules show no
symptoms of performance degradation commonly associated
with PID.

Advanced environmental evaluations were conducted by the
Taiwan Electric Research & Testing Centre (TERTEC). TERTEC
is an independent not-for-profit industrial research
organisation focused on managing and verifying government
initiatives like the VPC program.
The simulations included Advanced Wet Leakage tests,
Performance Attenuation, PID, Thermal Cycling, Damp Heat
and Salt Mist. To see the results of those simulations and why
