The Paradise Valley Police Department will conduct security checks of homes that are temporarily unoccupied during
vacation time as time permits. The frequency of the visits will be determined based on the number of vacation watch
forms submitted and the availability of staff to complete the security checks. Our goal is to make one security check per
week, but this is not a guarantee. Service may be less frequent during peak vacation watch periods (i.e. summer
months). The following requirements are necessary to ensure the safety of the residents and the officers:
• The home must be UNOCCUPIED during the indicated times.
• The homeowner or occupant must complete a new vacation watch form for each request for the service.
• All information requested MUST be provided. This includes a specific password to be used to verify your
identity upon your return. THIS PASSWORD IS NOT YOUR ALARM CODE.
• If the homeowner or occupant returns home earlier than the time indicated on the vacation watch form they
must notify Paradise Valley Police Department IMMEDIATELY of their return.
• Officers will inspect only readily accessible areas of the property.
PLEASE NOTE:
The Paradise Valley Police department will only be inspecting the perimeter doors and windows including those that
are located in the backyard. If you wish to have your pools or spas inspected or the property monitored for water
leaks we encourage you to hire a company that offers these services. The Paradise Valley Police department will NOT
be checking pools, spas, water leaks, or other areas aside from the perimeter doors and windows.
