Equipment Requirements
1. The minimum PV System size is 1 kW.
2. PV System installation must be made in accordance with Santee Cooper's Standards for
Interconnection anytime the PV System will be connected in any way to Santee Cooper's
electrical system.
• PV modules must comply with the latest published edition of:
• Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEEE) 929, IEEE 1547, IEEE 1547.1.
• Any additional standards as indicated in Santee Cooper's interconnection
standard.
• Generation system inverter must also pass the anti-islanding test in UL1741.
Contractor Requirements
1. It is the customer's responsibility to identify and select a PV contractor that is a Santee
Cooper qualified SETA in good standing. Contractors must adhere to the program
requirements.
2. Contractor will be required to provide proof they hold at least one of these licenses:
A. South Carolina Residential Builders Commission
• Electrical Specialty Contractor (Tested)
B. South Carolina Mechanical for Electrical with appropriate class:
I. $17,500
II. $30,000
III. $50,000
IV. $120,000
C. Master Electrical, Journeyman, City or County License Examed
3. Contractor will be required to provide proof they hold certification through the North American
Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP).
4. Contractors are required to adhere to any and all local, state, or federal regulations and
ensure any applicable permits and Homeowners Association approval are obtained.
