On Saturday 28th April, officers from the Lowestoft SNT worked with
the Traffic Specials and had a day of road traffic enforcement. 25
Traffic Offence Reports were given for vehicle defects, invalid
insurance details and no MOT. 3 Vehicles were seized and 17 drivers
reported for speeding. A productive day where new recruits learned a
range of valuable skills that they will use throughout their careers.
A multi-agency meeting where a number of school representatives were
in attendance took part on Tuesday 1st May at Lowestoft Police Station.
They discussed the impact that county lines drug dealing and child sex
exploitation has on our community. Officers from the SNT and the Area
Intelligence Unit discussed how school staff can assist with safeguarding
the young people in our community and raise awareness of key push
and pull indicators.
Increased reports of begging and street drinkers have been
made in the town centre. Community Protection Notices have
been issued whereby offending persons are expected to follow
conditions that prohibit them from acting in an anti-social
manner. If these conditions are breached then they are
enforceable through penalty fines up to £2,500.
