SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES
THE POWER OF CHOICE
Major: Any
Awarded To: Wyoming high school graduates attending Laramie County
Community College.
Wyoming high school graduates who have attended the
Wyoming Latina Youth Conference at least twice, including
once during grades 10 through 12, and who demonstrate
leadership and growth consistent with the messages of the
Wyoming Latina Youth Conference including empowerment,
education, and “The Power of Choice,” and who have
demonstrated leadership as indicated by volunteer and other
activities. Under certain circumstances the Wyoming Latina
Youth Conference committee will give consideration to those
who may not meet the conference attendance requirements.
Requirements: • High School Senior graduating from a Wyoming high school
• 2-time WLYC Attendee (once during grades 10, 11, and 12)
• Submit Scholarship Application
• Submit a one-page essay describing your conference
experiences, what you have learned, how this has helped you,
and how you have communicated the conference’s message
to help others.
• Submit one letter of recommendation from a teacher,
counselor, or community leader.
• Student(s) selected to receive this scholarship will be awarded
the scholarship funds after submitting proof of registration
in at least twelve (12) credit hours at Laramie County
Community College.
• This scholarship is good for one (1) semester and must be
used during the academic year.
