Requirement for Filing: Anchorage Municipal Code 12.20.040 requires that every person who owns or controls a mobile home as of January 1 file a mobile home assessment
return listing that property. Individual personal property utilized solely and exclusively for personal, non-business uses or purposes, not including mobile homes, is exempt from
taxation under this chapter.
Deadline for Filing: This form must be completed and returned to the Assessor’s Office on or before January 15, 2020 to the address noted above. If the return is mailed, it
must be postmarked* on or before the January 15th deadline. Delinquent returns will be subject to penalty. (*United States Postal Service)
Address Changes: If your address changes during the year you must notify the Personal Property Section. Failure to receive an assessment return or valuation notice does not
relieve you of the responsibility to file a return or for the payment of taxes.
Senior Citizens: Persons who have reached the age of 65 prior to January 1, 2020 may be exempt from paying taxes on their mobile home if the unit is owned and
occupied as their primary residence. Contact Property Appraisal Customer Service (343-6770) for filing and eligibility requirements. An application for exemption must be filed.
Business Property: Do not use this return form if your mobile home is owned by a business or used in a business capacity. Contact Property Appraisal Customer Service
(343- 6770) to obtain a Business Personal Assessment Return for filing.
