Emergency & Short Notice Notification Options
Oklahoma One Call System Inc. “OKIE811” standard procedure is to ensure underground utility operators are aware of
emergency and short notice tickets with a dig time of 24 hours or less via telephone.
Definitions:
Emergency Notice: Notice of excavation that may begin immediately due to endangerment of life, health or property.
The following ticket types are non-emergency requests with a dig time of 24 hours or less. These are commonly referred to as
Short Notice tickets.
2nd Notice: Notification when the excavator states a OKIE811 member has not marked within the 48 hours of a normal
request, but is still within 10 business days of the original/updated request.
3rd Notice: Notification when the excavator states a OKIE811 member has not marked and has waited 24 hours since
the 2nd Notice, but is still within 10 business days of the original/updated request.
Cancel Request Notice: Notification of a locate request that is no longer necessary due to excavation is no longer taking
place, wrong address or location, etc.
Correction Notice: Notice of correction or addition to existing locate request.
Non-Compliant Notice: Non-emergency request which the excavator plans to dig prior to the 48-hour notice required
by law.
Discontinue Phone Call Delivery Agreement
OKIE811 provides phone call delivery of all emergency and short notice locate requests to our members. This service is to ensure
the underground utility operator is aware of an emergency or short notice request with a dig time of 24 hours or less. At your
request, we will discontinue these phone calls. Please understand that discontinuing the phone calls releases Oklahoma One Call
System, Inc. from any and all liability of damages that may result from the failed delivery of an emergency locate request or short
notice requests. By signing and agreeing to these terms, you are confirming discontinuance of phone calls for the notices
selected below:
