HOW TO RUN FOR STUDENT COUNCIL
Senators, Class Officers, and Executive Board positions:
● Check the forms below for the dates to sign up to run for Student Council Senator, Class
Officer, or Student Council Executive Board.
o Class Officer positions are President, Girls Vice President, Boys Vice President,
Secretary and Treasurer. Freshmen will also have a Historian position (this lasts all
four years).
o Executive Board positions are President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
● You can run for both class officer and student council senator. Only the class presidents are
automatically members of the Student Council.
● You need to fill out and digitally sign the correct form listed below, download it, and email it
and other required information to Mrs. Jenkins. Her email is listed on the sign-up forms.
● There will be a deadline at the bottom of the sign-up form for turning in your form. Forms
need to be turned in by Thursday September 10th at 4:00pm. Download two copies of the
sign-up form, one to turn in and one to keep for your information. Please do not miss the
deadline.
● The confirmation meeting will be Friday, September 11th at 4:00pm. The confirmation
meeting is mandatory, and the details of this meeting are listed on your form. If you do not
attend the confirmation meeting, you cannot run for a position.
● No campaigning is allowed, you will turn in a photo to Mrs. Jenkins. Her email is listed on
your sign-up form. There are no speeches required.
● If you have questions at any time, email Mrs. Jenkins or visit her in room A101.

video slideshow will be shown to all students before voting.
There is to be NO campaigning on any type of social media. If this occurs, the candidate will be disqualified.
Confirmation is mandatory. Confirmation will be promptly at 4:00, Friday, September 11, 2020, on Zoom. No admittance will
be allowed after 4:05. There will be a mandatory meeting at this time. Failure to confirm and attend the meeting will
disqualify the candidate. Only those excuses in accordance with the Caddo School Board Policy will be accepted; parent
notes, e-mails, and phone calls will not excuse a candidate from confirmation. If you are an athlete and cannot attend
confirmation, you must notify Mrs. Jenkins by 8:30 on September 10, 2020.
