Volunteer Opportunity Brief Overviews
Colchester Youth Basketball
Available Volunteer Opportunity: Assistant Coach, Timing,
Officiating, Event Coordination
Duties may include: supervise youth in Colchester Youth
Basketball program teaching fundamentals, sportsmanship
and rules of the game. Also opportunities for learning
event management, timing and officiating. Will be super-
vised and work closely with the Program Coordinator.
Colchester Youth Lacrosse/Lacrosse Launch
Available Volunteer Opportunity: Assistant Coach, Timing,
Officiating, Event Coordination
Duties may include: supervise youth in Colchester Youth
Lacrosse program teaching fundamentals, sportsmanship
and rules of the game. Also opportunities for learning
event management, timing and officiating. Will be super-
vised and work closely with the Program Coordinator.
Dinner With Santa
Available Volunteer Opportunity: Santa’s Elves
Duties may include: Decorating for the event, cooking
food, being Santa’s Helper, check - in of participants,
cleaning tables and area.
Online Coaching Training Video
Available Volunteer Opportunity: Actors, filmmakers,
basketball players, lacrosse players, stage hands.
Duties may include: Being on camera or behind the
scenes to help produce a coaching video for youth la-
crosse and youth basketball coaches in Colchester.
Colchester’s Got Talent
Available Volunteer Opportunity: Check-in, Stage Hands,
Door Moderator, Green Room Moderator.
Duties may include: Sale of tickets, monitoring entry
way, helping prepare contestants in the green room,
helping prepare the stage for the next act.
Causeway 5K/10K Race
Available Volunteer Opportunity: Registration Table, Race
Course moderator, Water Station Helper.
Duties may include: Directing racers on the course, assist-
ing with registration table, fill cups at water stations and
clean up.
Winter Carnival
Available Volunteer Opportunity: Information Booth,
Playdough Room, Arts & Crafts Room, Mascot, Ice Hauler
and Decorators.
Duties may include: Sale of bracelets for Winter Carnival
entry, giving information to patrons about event, hauling
ice to sugar on snow booth, assisting in the arts and crafts
room, assisting in the playdough room, wearing mascot
costumes and roaming halls to greet the children.
4th of July Parade
Duties may include: Help with directing floats and line
up for the parade.
Colchester Triathlon
Available Volunteer Opportunity: Information Booth,
Body Marker, Water Station Helper, Transition Zone as-
sistant.
Duties may include: Directing racers on the course, as-
sisting with registration table, marking numbers on rac-
ers’ body, assist with transition zone directing racers and
tearing down transition zones at the end. Help with wa-
ter stations and clean up.

Parks Squad
Duties may include: Patrolling parks, park clean up, basic
light projects throughout our parks.
Senior Center Volunteer
Duties may include: Teaching classes to seniors, interact-
ing with seniors during programs, play games, cards etc
with the senior population.
Marketing Gang
Duties may include: Help promote and market any and
all aspects of the Parks and Recreation department.
May include: Parks, Recreation, Special events etc.
BAC Design Volunteer
Duties may include: Creating a welcoming space through
painting, design and more. This is a quarterly project
which students create, manage and maintain throughout
the year.
