HOW TO APPLY:
Monmouth University’s Center for the Arts is inviting artists to submit works of art that employ symbolism and collective
participation to fight for issues of social justice including racial discrimination, gender equality, fair labor practices, human rights
and more. A maximum of three pieces can be submitted by each artist and can include, but is not limited to: drawing, mixed
media, painting, small installation, fine crafts, photography, lithographs and sculpture. Artivism applauds artists as engaged
citizens; however, absolutely no work will be accepted that promotes violence or vulgarity.
Interested artists should submit:
Ø a one-page description of the work (pdf or doc)
Ø supporting materials (images, videos or other documents)
Ø an artist bio
Ø completed submission form

https://spaces.hightail.com/uplink/muarts or by mail to Monmouth University Center for the Arts, 400 Cedar Ave, West Long
Branch, NJ 07764. Entries will not be returned, so please send a copy. The deadline for submission forms and accompanying
images or video is January 31, 2018 at midnight, and final decisions will be made by February 15, 2018. Images should be
submitted in JPEG format, must be larger than 1000 pixels in any direction, at least 300dpi and must be oriented as the artwork is
to be viewed. Additional images may be requested by the jury panel.

Two dimensional work must be framed and ready to hang. Pedestals will be provided for craft and sculpture. Artists are
responsible for delivery and pick up of their own work. The show will run in Monmouth University’s Pollak Gallery from April 1
- May 31st, 2018 with an opening reception on April 13 from 7-9 PM. If you have any questions on how to submit forms or
