Early Admissions Overview
In an effort to meet the needs of students who are still enrolled in high school or in a home education program, College of
DuPage offers an Early Admissions (EA) Program for qualified students who have not yet reached the age of 18 or graduated
from high school. The classes offered for Early Admissions students are college-level courses and initial acceptance into the
program is determined following a mandatory interview with an admissions representative from the Admissions and Outreach
Office. After the initial interview and first term of classes, the student will meet with a Student Success counselor from the
Office of Counseling, Advising and Transfer Services until the student graduates from high school or turns 18 years old.
Enrollment Eligibility for New Students
Acceptance into the Early Admissions Program is determined by the College of DuPage Office of Admissions and Outreach on
a case-by-case basis. To participate as an Early Admissions student, a student must meet ALL of the following requirements:
1. Be under the age of 18 without a high school diploma or GED.
2. Have a cumulative high school GPA of at least a 2.75 on a 4.0 scale or a 3.75 on a 5.0 scale.
3. Complete the College of DuPage General Admissions application online at admissions.cod.edu. A one-time $20
non-refundable application fee is required.
4. Complete the Early Admissions Entrance Form (see page 2).
5. Meet all regular prerequisites (if any) for the desired course. Visit cod.edu/catalog for more information about
class prerequisites.
6. Attend a College Now Information Session or set up an interview with an admissions representative and bring an
unofficial high school transcript, proof of prerequisites (if any) and a completed Early Admissions Entrance Form.

Additional Information
As an Early Admissions (EA) student, please note the following information:
Recommendation from a high school counselor or parent does not guarantee acceptance into the Early
Admissions Program.
Approval for a class load of more than one course per semester will only be granted in exceptional cases.
A student may be required to take Reading, Writing or Math Placement Tests to determine which courses he
or she is able to enroll in at College of DuPage. Specifically, math and science courses may require a qualifying
Math ALEKS placement test score.
Not all subject areas or college-level courses are available to Early Admissions students.
College of DuPage is not responsible for determining if a course fulfills high school graduation requirements.
The grades earned for courses taken as an Early Admissions student will be permanent and recorded on future
College of DuPage transcripts.
Credits earned as an Early Admissions student are often transferable to other post-secondary institutions.
Approval for online, flexible and independent learning classes will only be granted in exceptional cases.
When a student reaches the age of 18 or begins attending college, regardless of age, FERPA rights transfer directly
to the student. Students must appear in person to the Office of Student Records to sign a release form to allow a
parent or guardian access to non-directory information.
The grades earned at the end of the first semester of classes will determine the student’s continued eligibility as an
Early Admissions student for future academic terms.
After the initial interview and first term of classes, the student will meet with a Student Success counselor from the
Office of Counseling, Advising and Transfer Services until the student graduates from high school or turns 18 years old.
Non-Discrimination Policy and Procedures
The College will not discriminate in its programs and activities on the basis of race, color, religion or creed, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, marital
status, sexual orientation, arrest record, military status or unfavorable discharge from military service, citizenship status, use of lawful products while not
at work, physical or mental handicap or disability.
