2017/2018 Academic Year Application Information
General Information
The Abrego Future Scholars - Dreamer Book Scholarship at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF),
is designed to assist with the cost of books for students considered to be undocumented students. The
scholarship awards up to $500 to CSUF students who will be enrolled full time in the 2017/2018
academic year.
As part of the scholarship experience, students benefit from personalized support services to help
facilitate their student success at CSUF. Recipients must complete a set of requirements as part of the
scholarship program which include but are not limited to the following:
• Attend Fall and Spring scholarship orientation, events, and meetings;
• Meet for academic advising/coaching each semester;
• Meet with faculty/staff mentors;
• Meet with assigned peer mentor twice a month; and
• Attend student success workshops.
Eligibility Requirements
Scholarship recipients must meet these requirements:
• Must be considered an undocumented student
• Have a 2.0 Cumulative GPA
• Demonstrate significant contributions to school and community activities
• Enroll at CSUF full time each term during the 2017/2018 academic year
Application Procedure
Application
Completed application form, which should include personal experiences with employment and
community service, honors and awards received, and one essay.
Recommender Form
One recommendation form required (can be submitted directly to program by recommender)
Transcripts (only for new CSUF students)
Submit an unofficial copy of your transcript(s)
o First Time Freshmen: Recent unofficial high school transcript
o Transfer Students: Unofficial transcripts from all colleges attended
o Continuing CSUF Students: You do not need to submit a transcript
Financial Need Verification
Submit a copy of your 2017/2018 CA Dream Act (CDA) Aid Report or Cal SAR Report that
shows your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) number and includes the summary of income
and resources. If you are unable to file a CDA application, complete the financial need
summary section within this scholarship application.
