CODE OF BEHAVIOUR
According to the Education Act, Article 150-Section (1)29 under the powers of a Board of Education:
A Board may establish continuing education courses and classes but is not obliged to do so. Therefore
Continuing Education programs are a privilege and can be withdrawn.
The Toronto Catholic District School Board provides an extensive Continuing Education program that assists
students to achieve their academic potential through new credit courses. It is imperative that all educational
partners (students, parents, day and Continuing Education teaching staff) understand the importance of
adhering to the Code of Behaviour. Through this commitment, students will profit from and maintain this
academic privilege.
The Continuing Education Department aims to provide for its students and its staff a safe and welcoming
learning environment that is an example of a Christian community. To achieve this, all members of the school
community will:

contribute positively to the Christian climate and culture of the school
•
respect others and the property of the school

co-operate in a positive manner in observing the expectations and complying with the
regulations of the school
•
accept responsibility for their own learning, choices and actions
•
be accountable for punctuality at school and for regular attendance
•
use language respecting the dignity of others
•
observe the non-smoking policy on school property
STUDENTS WHO FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE ABOVE EXPECTATIONS MAY BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE CONTINUING
EDUCATION PROGRAM.
