Prior to commencement in a Bachelor of Nursing course the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council
requires applicants to demonstrate a high level of English competence and to meet Mandatory Functional
Requirements.
By submitting this application, I declare to the best of my knowledge and belief that the information given in this
form is correct and complete in every detail. I acknowledge that if I make a false declaration to any of the above the
School is required to report this to Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) and this may adversely
impact my student registration and ability to continue in the Bachelor of Nursing.
Where a student is found to have submitted any fraudulent documentation as part of an application for admission
and are excluded as a result, no refund will be made unless fees have been paid in advance for a period of study
which has not yet commenced.
To be eligible for an offer to the Bachelor of Nursing you must:
Accept one of the following declarations
English is my primary language*
OR
I have achieved the required minimum scores in one of the nominated English language tests within the last
two years and can submit evidence of the test scores immediately. The specified minimum English language
test scores are described on page 2 of this document.
OR
I have achieved the required minimum scores in one of the nominated English language tests within the last
two years and will provide evidence of the scores prior to admission. The specified minimum English
language test scores are described on page 2 of this document.

English Language Test Minimum Scores Required
These minimum scores must be achieved in one of the following English Language Test, with results within the last 2
years, as stipulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) English language skills registration
standard (2019).*
1. IELTS (academic module)
A minimum overall score of 7.0 and a minimum score of 7.0 in each of the four components (listening, reading,
writing, and speaking)
OR
2. TOEFL iBT
A with a minimum total score of 94 and the following minimum score in each section of the test:
24 for listening,
24 for reading,
27 for writing, and
23 for speaking.
OR
3. Occupational English Test - OET
A minimum score of B in each of the four components (listening, reading, writing and speaking).
OR
4. Pearson Test of English - PTE Academic
A minimum overall score of 65 and a minimum score of 65 in each of the four communicative skills (listening,
reading, writing, and speaking).
