3 YEAR HIGH SCHOOL OUT-OF-STATE FEE WAIVER
In accordance with statute 1009.26 (12)(a), students who have attended a secondary school in this state for 3
consecutive years immediately before graduating from a high school in this state and applied for enrollment
at a Florida institution of higher education within 24 months after high school are eligible to receive a waiver
for the out-of-state portion of their tuition. The student is responsible for the in-state portion of their tuition and
books. This waiver is only applicable for 110 percent of the required credit hours of the degree or certificate
program for which the student is enrolled. Students receiving this waiver are not eligible for state financial aid.
The student must submit the following:
1. Final, official high school transcript (including graduation date) demonstrating 3 consecutive years of
attendance immediately before graduation.
2. If applying to Daytona State College after the 24 month period, documentation that the student applied
to another Florida institution within the 24 month period must accompany the high school transcript.
HOMELESS WAIVER
In accordance with statute 1009.25 (1)(f), students who lack a fixed residence are eligible to receive a waiver
for their tuition (books and supplies are NOT included). Students must provide a letter on letterhead from a
Florida agency whose mission is to assist homeless individuals. The student must be residing in Florida while
taking classes. Letters must be dated within 30 days of the start date of classes. Letters will be verified one
week prior to the start date of classes. The student must still be receiving services from the agency at the time
of verification.
The following items must be attached:
1. Letter on letterhead from a Florida agency that provides services to homeless individuals stating that
the student is currently homeless and their receiving services. The letter must be dated within 30 days
of the start date of classes.
By signing this form, I understand that waivers are only valid for one semester. Receipt of one of these waivers
does not result in classification as a Florida Resident for Tuition Purposes. If I wish to seek this waiver in a
subsequent semester, I must reapply and provide the required documentation.
