Radiologic technologists are key members of the healthcare team who create images used to diagnose patient
injury or illness. They use sophisticated equipment to produce radiographic images or x-rays of the human body.
Students successfully completing radiologic technology education will be able to pursue careers in many different
settings, including hospitals, medical offices, and clinics across the nation.
The CBC Radiologic Technology program is a selective admission and competitive entrance program. You must
apply to the College and also to the program. Applicants are screened according to timely coursework completion
and grades. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the start of the program.
Applicants are encouraged to attend at least one information session. At this Zoom session an advisor will describe
the program, the prerequisites, the application process, and students are able to ask specific program questions.
This enables the student to understand details of the program before making the commitment of time and money
towards this education. A reservation is not necessary to attend.
Information session dates and times are located on the following webpage
CBC’s Radiologic Technology program is an eight-quarter program beginning summer quarter each year. During the
course of the program, enrolled students gain extensive hands-on training and acquire more than 1,800 hours of
clinical work at healthcare facilities.
Upon successful completion of all degree and program requirements, students will obtain an Associate in Applied
Science degree in Radiologic Technology.
Please read and complete all sections of the application. Sections 1, 2, and 3 must be returned with your official

RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM
5
Th
e Columbia Basin College Radiologic Technology program utilizes several elements for initial review of applicants
seeking entrance into the Radiologic Technology program. Those elements include (A) cumulative grade point
average among selected prerequisite courses and (B) TEAS assessment score. A bonus point (C) is given for
successful completion of a CBC Health Science program. Each of these elements is outlined further below. Scores
on each element will be combined to form the applicant’s initial Admission Index Score based on a total of 20
possible points (plus one possible bonus point).
Each prerequisite course must be passed with a minimum of a 2.0 for students to be considered for the Radiologic
Technology program. Winter quarter will be the cut off for classes for this application period, spring quarter classes
will not count towards the 2021 application. All transcripts must be sent to CBC Student Records by April 15, 2021.
When the student submits an application to the program, the initial Admissions Index Score will be computed and
recorded for class cohort comparison. Students with the highest final Admissions Index Scores (based on the total
number of new applicants allowed in a given year) will be accepted into the program.
A. Cumulative Grade Point
The cumulative grade point of the following courses will be calculated for the Admissions Index Score.
1. BIOL& 241/241L (Anatomy & Physiology I)
2. BIOL& 242/242L (Anatomy & Physiology II)
3. MATH& 146 (Statistics)
4. ENGL& 101 (English Composition)
The cumulative GPA (from a total possible cumulative score of 4.0) will be multiplied by a factor of 2.5 for 10
total possible points.
Letter grades (including those received from transferring colleges or universities) will be assigned the
following decimal scores according to our campus policy:
A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B- = 2.7, C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, C- = 1.7, D+ =1.3, D= 1.0, D- = 0.7
B. TEAS Assessment Score
The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) score will be utilized to assess math, English, and science
comprehension at the time of application. The assessment will be provided through the Columbia Basin
College Assessment Center based on student demand and independent scheduling. Results will be
forwarded to the Student Records office for placement of score results within respective student files. This
test may be taken twice per year of Radiologic Technology application. The highest score per application
period will be used for computation of the Radiologic Technology Admissions Index Score. The test will be
provided at specific times throughout the academic year. Please contact the Assessment Center for test
availability dates.
The total TEAS score (from a total possible score of 100) will be divided by a factor of 10 for 10 total possible
points.
