CLASSIC ROD/CLASSIC VEHICLE PERSONALIZED PRESTIGE LICENSE PLATE APPLICATION

A resident of the State of Nevada who owns a passenger car or light commercial vehicle (having a manufacturer’s rated
carrying capacity of 1 ton or less), and meeting the requirements for a CLASSIC ROD (manufactured not earlier than 1949,
but at least 20 years prior to the date of application), or the requirements for a CLASSIC VEHICLE (manufactured at least
25 years prior to the date of application and must contain only the original parts that were used to manufacture the vehicle or
replacement parts that duplicate those original parts) may apply for Personalized Prestige license plates.
First time fee for a Personalized Prestige license plate is $35.00, plus a $0.50 per plate Prison Industry Fee. Renewal fee
will be $10.00 in addition to all other applicable registration fees. Personalization will
require a fee of $35.00 during the initial registration and a $20.00 fee at each renewal period in addition to all other
applicable registration fees. For those motor vehicles exempted from emission testing, 1968 and newer, the Department
will collect a one-time fee of $6.00 to be deposited into the pollution control account; these fees are in addition to all other
registration fees.
If your vehicle is currently registered, you have the option to maintain your current vehicle expiration date, or renewing for
a full twelve (12) month period. Credit for the unused portion of your current registration will be applied. You must surrender
your current license plates to the Department in order to transfer this credit.
In accordance with NAC 445B.574; If a Classic Rod and/or Classic Vehicle has been certified, upon each annual registration,
to not have been driven more than 5,000 miles since the preceding annual registration, the Classic Rod and/or Classic
Vehicle may be certified as exempt from compliance of emission standards (with required submittal of form EC-18 at
initial registration and annual renewal.) If the vehicle is driven over 5,000 miles, a passing emissions test is required at
the time of renewal. The owner must also provide Nevada evidence of liability insurance for the vehicle being registered, at
the time of application.
Please Note: First time application for this plate type must be done in person at a full service DMV Office. Personalization
of the Classic Rod/Vehicle plate will remove the CLASSIC ROD/CLASSIC VEHICLE verbiage from the license plate to allow
for personalization. License plates will be mailed after they are produced.
